One part of our body that we take for granted is our eye, is it not? So, have you ever wondered what the best foods for your eyes are?
So, let’s dwell on it a bit now!
Do we all need bright vision?
Yes, of course. Bright-colored veggies and fruits really brighten up our vision. Multiple research articles authentically vouch for this fact.
The simple reason being their richness in antioxidants like vitamin A, beta-carotene, B complex vitamins, vitamins C and E, lutein, and zeaxanthin.Yellow, orange, and green colors are our eyes’ favorites. Such foods include carrot, papaya, pumpkin, lemons, oranges, grapefruits, berries, and leafy green vegetables, to name a few.
Oily fish like salmon, tuna, sardine, and mackerel are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids. These are proven to reduce the risk of age-related retinal degeneration, and the dry eye syndrome (which is becoming increasingly common these days). In addition, staying adequately hydrated also helps relieve many of the symptoms associated with dry eyes.
Nuts like walnuts, seeds like chia seeds and flax seeds, and legumes are also rich in omega-3s and vitamin E that help prevent age-related retinal degeneration.
